Judging solely by its looks, the new Krups Blender is without question
a state of the art appliance. Appropriately dubbed the Power XtremePremium,
it has a powerful 400-watt motor that mixes uniformly and thoroughly
with 8 functions: an Auto Ice Crusher that quickly crushes ice without
adding water, an auto-Pulse mode, and 6 blending speeds to stir, whip,
chop, mix, puree and liquefy. A soft-start feature prevents splattering
when you first turn it on, and a built-in speed control automatically
adapts the speed based on the function selected and the texture of the
mixture. The uniquely shaped glass jar, with its dripless pour spout
and locking lid, holds 50 ounces. A built-in 3-oz. cup lets you measure
ingredients precisely. The sturdy, wide metal base has a touch pad panel
that cleans up easily.

This blender combines top performance with innovative features, and
is one of the quietest models tested. It has six speeds, plus pulse
and ice crushing. It pulses automatically (no need to continually press
the pulse pad) on the chop and ice crushing settings. With the “Soft
Start” feature the blender automatically starts gradually to prevent
spattering. The glass blender jar with its dripless pouring spout has
a wide base, making it easy to remove ingredients with a spatula. It
has a generous 50-ounce capacity and a twist on/off locking lid that
was a pleasure to use. This blender gave especially even results on
all tests and did an excellent job of crushing ice. The built-in 3-ounce
cup helps you measure ingredients and the touch control pads are easy
to use and clean. To start the blender, you simply press a speed pad.
It eliminates the extra step of having to press the “on” pad first,
as with some other blenders.
